Knife Sharpening

I am now operating out of my home. You may bring your knives, wrapped in newspaper or a towel (to keep them safe) to my back patio and drop them off. My address is 241 Windover Grove Dr. Memphis, TN 38111. I’m on the northwest corner (?) of a circular drive, accessed ONLY from the west side of Highland, just south of Poplar. There is a north entrance and a south entrance, both are between brick columns with a WINDOVER GROVE plaque between 2 Japanese maple trees.

241 Windover Grove Dr.

Pull in to the end of the driveway to the right and go into the patio on the left. There is a silver receptacle (trash can) marked One Sharp Dude. Leave your knives there and call me at 901-258-8211. I usually turn them around in 24-48 hours, then call you when they’re ready.

All work is done initially on the TruHone machine which uses rotating honing stones for an equal bevel on both sides of the knife through the length of the blade. Knives are then polished to a fine edge using an old-fashioned leather barber strop.

Suggested donation is $6/knife and $10/scissors. If you would like to make a donation, cash or check ┬áto Steve Collins. Don’t leave any money until your tools have been sharpened. Thanks.

Can I make some sort of appointment, drop off 9 kitchen knives (3 chef and 6 steak), and one sheers, and pick them up later that day? Its 2hrs to Memphis, I could run and do some shopping while you sharpen.

I have a set of Gerber kitchen knives that are about 40 years old. For the life of me, I cannot sharpen them because the steel is so hard. Can you take a stab (ooh bad pun) at putting a good edge on them? I have French chef, long carving, short utility and paring knives.

I want to make purchase from you which i will be sending the order list in the email to follow and would like to know if you can work with our shipping agent.
Let me know also if Visa with my US billing address is good for payment as this order is intended for my store in Australia.
Hope to read back from you soon.

    Thank you

That sounds great! I have no problem using your shipping agent, but I prefer sending funds via Western Union. I have an account there. WU5-3684991. I have no problem providing free shipping as I have come into a large sum of money from a Nigerian minister who recently passed away.
