I am now operating out of my home. I’ll happily meet you for an appointment. You may bring your knives, or scissors, or garden tools wrapped in newspaper or a towel (to keep them safe) to my back patio. My address is 241 Windover Grove Dr. Memphis, TN 38111. I’m on the northwest corner (?) of a circular drive, accessed ONLY from the west side of Highland, just south of Poplar. There is a north entrance and a south entrance, both are between brick columns with a WINDOVER GROVE plaque between 2 Japanese maple trees.
I have a list of my references here.
Pull in to the end of the driveway to the right and go into the patio on the left. If we’ve done business before, or if it’d be more convenient for you, there is a silver receptacle (trash can) marked One Sharp Dude. You may leave your knives there and call me at 901-258-8211. I usually turn them around in 24-48 hours, then call you when they’re ready.
All work is done initially on the TruHone machine which uses rotating honing stones for an equal bevel on both sides of the knife through the length of the blade. Each knife is sharpened with 3 angles. Knives are then polished to a fine edge using an old-fashioned leather barber strop.
Suggested donation is $6/knife and $10/scissors. If you would like to make a tax-deductible donation, please make out a check to the National Foundation for Transplants. Don’t leave donation until your tools have been sharpened. Thanks.
In addition to knives, I also sharpen garden tools: pruners, loppers, hedge trimmers (manual), shovels, spades, and hoes. A man needs to have a sharp hoe.
